Forty-two divorce cases are sot down for hearing at the sitting of the Supreme Court in Divorce in Wellington, which commenced on Monday. Of the total, nine actions arc defended.
The sale of produce will be continued at the Hospital this evening, when the balance of the produce will T)e sold. The grounds being well-lighted and an alfresco concert will be given. No charge for admission to grounds.
At the mart on Saturday at 2 p.ra. Messrs. Ward and Co. will sell, without reserve, under instructions from Messrs Thomason and Stevens, their complete carriers ’ plant, including van, spring dray, three-quarter and half-draught horses, harness, covers,' etc. Sale commences at 2 p.m.
Mr Niel Carmichael, who recently met with an accident at Utiku, falling through a bridge over which he was passing with a team of horses, is well enough to leave the hospital. Mr Carmichael speaks in the highest terms of the excellent treatment he received from Dr Mac Diarmid, the Matron and the nurses at the Taihape Public Hospital, and he desires to tender them his most hearty thanks. Mr Carmichael also expresses his deep appreciation of the timely assistance of a telephone linesman, who happened to be at the scene of the accident, who promptly rescued him a position in which ho must have lost his life, and conveyed him by motor car to where his injuries could receive attention. '
