LABOUR TROUBLES.
FRENCH COAL CRISIS. GERMAN PRESS VIEW. Received 8.55 a.m. AMSTERDAM, Nov. 4. The Berlin newspaper, BVelheit, discussing the threatened coal strike ;n France, points out that the minors'' position may be difficult because of France receiving German coal. It understands that the German miners would strike in sympathy,
[ BRITISH MINING TROUBLE. ; ' STRIKE DECLARED OFF. LONDON", Nov. 4. , The executive met late this afternoon to receive full reports. Mr SmilMe ■pointed out that under the constitution of the Miners * Federation a two-thirds majority was necessary for continuance of a strike. The complete figures for the offer were: 338,045, and against 346,504.. A long discussion followed, and a resolution was adopted that in view of the abovementioned rule the strike be declared off and the men advised to resume work to-morrow, or as soon aspossible.
WATERSIDE TROUBLE. STRIKE DECLARED OFF. Received 11.50 a.m. SYDNEY, This day. The strike of watersiders against overtime has been declared off for the whole Commonwealth.
