STORM AT MANGAWEKA.

DAMAGE BY THUNDER AND LIGHTNING.

Mangawoka was the centre of the storm which occurred last evening, as the tHm-ler and lightning there was particularly severe. The full force of the storm was not felt at Taihape, but at Mangaweka the lightning was so severe that several of the telephone fuses - were blown out. The thunderstorm was particularly severe, and the town was plunged in darkness on account of the failure of the electric light. One peal of thunder was so severe that several windows were smashed by the concussion, and the residents were greatly alarmed.
