TAIHAPE HOSPITAL CARNIVAL.
The scheme outlined by Mr Hill and adopted is as follows: — Opening Day, Church Day: Church collections. Second Day: A boost to get general subscriptions from private individuals, firms or unions by organised canvass. Concert '• or entertainment in the evening, to include an appeal for public assistance and support. Third Day, Children's Day: Children's Fair or Sports; Bottle collection; Dance or Entertainment. * r Fourth Day, Country Day: Stalls country produce, jumble stalls, weight guessing competition, the hen that laid 1000 eggs, monster butter pat, garden party J in Hospital Grounds, Alfresco I 4 concert, competitions, afternoon !
tea, music, etc. Fifth Day, People's Day: A Carnival Day, Sports, Floral fete, ;' Poster procession, Decorated vehicles, Band performance, Stalls, Copper Trail, Evening concert or entertainment. Sixth Day, Railway Worker's Day: To be devoted to the energies of the railway workers of • Taihape, by such means as they might suggest. (Possibly hardup social, minstrel show, competition night, and the workers may decide to make a special of so much j>er head).' Seventh Day, Commercial Travellers Day: Monster auction sales of balance of week's produce, auction sale of seats for evening concert, Carnival police and court, prize packet scheme.
