PROGRESS OF FARMING.
SOME' INTERESTING FIGURES
The following tables show the amount of stock, wool, etc., railed frhm the- various stations mentioned during the years 1913-14 and 1919-20:
Totals: 21,175 512,070 73,048
The most remarkable increases are in thp Ohakune and Raetihi districts, where land settlement has been proceeding at a great rate during the past few years, The decrease in the figures for Taihape is not due to any lack of progress, but to the fact that stock is not railed, away in such quantities as in 1913-14 on account of the freezing works having been established, and the stock being driven instead of railed.
