TO MEET COST OF LIVING. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 26. The'question of an extra bonus on wages to meet the higher cost of living during the past six months was brought up at this morning's sitting of the Arbitration Court by Mr. D. Mantin, who asked the Court tOf include in an. order the additional bonus to be' given for the September quarter's increase Mr. Justice Stringer said unions should file applications for bonuses, and papers could be forwarded to the Court wherever it was sitting, and an order would be made accordingly.' IH'e would not hear applications for a new bonus at the present sittings. The Court had not yet officially announced that there would be an extra bonus as from November first, but in "all probability there Avould be, judging by the returns. The employers' representative intimated that he did not think the employers generally would object to the payment of a new bonus.
