METHODIST CHURCH.
QUARTERLY MEETING. The Methodist. Quarterly Meeting was held at Taihape on Tuesday evening last. There was. a large attendance atad the meeting proved one of the most enthusiastic of its kind ever held in the church. Sixteen new names were added to the membership roll.
j The balance-sheet pre mired by Mr J. R. Cunninghame also showed a very satisfactory state of affairs. Taihape church collections which showed an increased income last quarter, showeo a still further increase for quarter ending September 30, 1920, namely from £2B 2/8 to £SO 10/. Income totalled £125 9/3; consequently a big debit balance had disappeared. The congregation had grown correspondingly. The church had been filled and conversation took place re extra seating accommodation.;
Mr Darvill and Mrs Joll were congratulated -upon the improved condition of the Sunday School. The former reported the purchase .of new Bibles, Hymn books, and" pictures to the value of £l2, free of debt. Since having renovated, heated and painted the church free of debt, the contract of moving; enlarging and painting the Sunday School Hall is to be taken in hand. .
Upon the motion of Mr J/ R. Cunninghame, seconded by Mr Goldsbury, the Rev. W, Lea received an unanimous invitation to remain in Taihape for another year. The same was conditionally accepted.
Messrs Parton, Dix, and. Pascoe
were elected Society Stewards. The meeting was closed with the Benediction.
