BANQUET TO SOLDIERS.
j The citizens of Taihape are' tendering a banquet to the returned soldiersSof the town and district at the Town Hall on Friday, October 29th. Returned soldiers will be admitted free, anfl a charge of £ll/ will he made for civilians. The function is to take .the form of a welcome home and reunion, nnd (tickets are now procurable from Messrs F. Marlow, 'S. Dunbar, E.McLaughlan, J. • R. Cunninghame, and G. W, Wrightson. Over 260 invitations have been posted to returned soldiers through the agency of R.S.A., and if there are any returned soldiers who have not yet received an invitation, the secretary of the E.S.A. will issue one on proof being given that the applicant is a returnee! soldier. The R.S.A. roll is only /of men who are members of the Association at Taihape, and as there is no other roll of returned, men kept by any other body, it is difficult to get in touch with other returned men whoshould be present at. the function. Alt those who are desirous of being present should apply at once to the secretary. R.S.A., Times office, when a card: will be issued.
