FEACAS AT EAETIHI. EAETIHI, October 11. The Police Court was occupied during the greater part of Saturday hearing a charge of attempted murder against William Williams. It was al- ■ leged- thalr; Williams and the complainant, Martin fTansen, quarrelled, that i accused threatened to murder Hansen, | ahd struck him on the head with an axe. \ Hansen, who appeared in Court with Iris head bandaged, "gave lengthy evij dence, a good deal of which was conI tradicted by a witness named Maurice Williams. There had apparently been a quarrel, and both men had been drinking. After the hearing of evidence the case was dismissed, and accused was dismissed. eSrgeant Matthew proecuted, ancT~Mr. W. H. Tustin, of Eaetihi, appeared for accused.
