FURTHER SEIZURES OF LAND.. PEASANTS AND OWNERS IN CONFLICT. Received 9,10 a.m. • ROME, October 5. There are have been further occupations of Silician lands. Thousands of peasants headed by a monk formed a procession and seized and occupied feudal estates. A monk led five hundred peasants to, occupy an estate at Sant Angelo, and while they were returning they were fired upon by a hundred landowners hiding in a hedge One peasant was killed. Ex-soldiers occupied three estates in Syracuse, where Baron Camerata,s offered his estate free. Elsewhere there have been numerous occupations. A dozen lawyers headed two thousand armed peasants on horseback and occupied three large estates.
