TAIHAPE FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
A COUNCIL FORMED, A meeting of delegates of the various Taihape Friendly- Societies was held last night, when there were present: —Messrs. J. Bartosh (chair), H. McClure, A. Aplin, E. Loader, J. Johnston, and E. Lenihan, It was decided that a Friendly Societies ’ Council be formed, and the following were elected to constitute tho Council:—President, Mr. J. Bartosh; vice-preiden'r, Mr. E. Loader; secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. Lenihan; Council, Messrs. A. Aplin, D. Woodhead, N. P. Thomason, H. McClure, E Loader and R. Howden. It was decided that in connection with the contract for supply of medicines that all lodge members be circularised and made .acquainted with 4 the terms of the agreement Tho subscription fee to the Council for each Lodge was fixed at. £1 1/. The Secretary was instructed to* make inquiries re hospital beds’ for Lodge members, and to arrange if pos- ■ sible an agreement re dental treatment for Lodge members, and to call a * meeting at a convenient-date for-the-adoption of r. L.u. etc. The meeting terminated with a voters of thanks to the chain
