POILU ON TRACK OF WILHELM.

"I wanted to kill the Kaiser" is the excuse offered by a.soldier named Boucher, being tried by court-martial at Marseilles for desertion. Boucher was discovered by the Allied Commission of Control in the civil prison at Danzig, in November, 1919. He first stated lie was prisoner of war detained by the Germans. When, however, it was pointed out that he had deserted from his depot in France several months after the armistice, he said that he made his way across Belgium with the idea of reaching Holland vxnd punishing the exKaiser for his crimes. From a train bound for the French frontier Boucher escaped, and, having secured a revolver and some hand' grenades, made a second attempt to reach Amcrongen. He was arrested by the Dutch frontier guards, disarmed, and sent bach to Germany. Finally, at Cologne, ha was once more taken into custody by the French gendarmes.
