IMPORTANT COMPETITION. LONDON. October 1. The judges for the competition for large and small British aeroplanes organised ’ by the "Sir Ministry, report that the competition, revealed a less radical advance in general design than was anticipated, but useful developments in detail design. The judges refused to award the full number of prizes originally specified. No firsts were awarded for large aeroplanes. The 'Handly Page Company was awarded second prize, eight thousand sterling. The Westland Aircraft works were awarded first for small aeroplanes.
