Eight members of the Chicago White Sox baseball playera have been indicted before a grand jury. The case promises sensational revelations. Last year Cincinnati won the world's championship, whereupon millions of dollars in the shape of bets, changed hands. When the case came before the Court, Eddie' Cieotte, Ithe star pitcher, confessed that he and seven other players allowed Cincinnati to win. Evidence is in possession of the authorities showing that the incriminated players were promised 200,000 sterling to lose, but received less ft)an £2OOO, \'he balance allegedly- going to a syndicate of gamblers who double-crossed the players.
