SUDDEN DEATH.

Last evening a middle-aged man named Stephen Sapsford, who was for some time employed as a butcher &% the Otaihape Meat Company's shop in Station Street died in the lock-up at the police station, Deceased was well- known locally, and bad been ill for some days. His manner during the last day or two had been rather peculiar, with the result that the police took charge of him yesterday mornng and cared for him during the day. Deceased collapsed suddenly early in the evening and expired. He leaves a widow and two young children, for whom the greatest sympathy will be felt in tbeir sad bereavement. DeceasecT Trecenlly commenced business at Utiku.
