MILITARY PENSIONS.

o j A meeting of returned soidiers and. j the dependants of soldiers will be held I in the Town Hall Supper Room this ! evening at 8 o'clock for the purpose | of discussing the position which, has j arisen in connection with the payment of pensions to disabled soldiers and *the dependants of soldiers. It is well known that the cost of living has increased about 80 per cent, since the pensions scale was drawn up, but the totally disabled soldiers and the dependants of soldiers are still beingcompelled to exist on pensions which were admittedly inadequate even afc the time the scale was drawn up. The R.S.A. has been endeavouring to secure an increased scale of pensions commensurate with the cost of living, and the assistance of all those in crested is now sought in order that the justice of the claim may be impressed on the Government. All interested should attend the meeting.
