an Ail 1C able conference. LONDON, Sept. 25. The coal owners and miners’ delegates conferred .amicably for two and a-half hours regarding output and They then adjourned until Monday. The miners will endeavour to get the datum line of output, fixed low enough to give an immediate increase in wages. It was pointed out that the output would be materially increased if all miners would work a full number of shifts instead of attending football matches and other sports during the working hours. TRUCE CAUSES REJOICING. LONDON, Sept. 20. The coal truce was greeted with joy bolls and miners singing in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. There were manifestations of relief and hope in other coalfields. COTTON SPINNERS’ STRIKE. ‘INDICATIONS OF COLLAPSE. LONDON, Sept. 26. There are indications that the strike among the cotton spinners at Oldham has begun to collapse. McSWEENEY’S LONG FAST. LONDON, Sept. 25. Mr. McSweenoy’s condition is unchanged. His relatives deny that he is being fed. The "Sunday Express’’ states that the Home Secretary has curtailed the privileges extended to McSwecney’s relatives. McSwconey has been transferred to a room of which Dio door is locked, and only prison doctors and nurses are allowed to approach Ins bedside. Relatives may speak to him through the bars of the door.
