HIDE AND TALLOW SALE. Abraham & Williams Ltd., report. At our sale at Palmerston North, oil September I6th inst. we offered a \erj large catalogue consisting of oUO hides and 300 calf skins to a full bench of buyers Who operated keenly for all sound lines of hides bu’ti at a slightly lower range compared with last sale, ainfcrior sorts were difficult of disposal,, whilst calf skins advanced about threepence per lb ou last sale rates, some lines on our catalogue making as high as twenty-one pence per lb. Tallow a little easier, rabbit skins up to thirty pence per lb. We quote: Calf skins: best lines 24 to 21d per to 16/- each. r. Ox, heavy 161 to 17 1-S; ox medium 15J to IGi; ox light 11 to 15!; cow | heavy 12 to 1? 7-S; cow medium 11 to 11?.; cow light PS to 11 1-8; cut slippy

and inferior 3 to 11; horse hides 12/- j« ib; calf good 18 to 20d; calf stained j 14 'to 18d; calf cut 10 to 14d; calf j slippy and inferior 6 to lOcl; ylgs. and j kip 10 to 14d. Tallow cask £4B per j ton; in tins £4O to £47 per ton; rab- j bit skins 16 to 30d per lb: horse hair' 15 to IPd per lb. !
