The depnty-Mayor (Mr J W, Smith), and seven councillors of the Featherston Borough oCuncil resigned in a body yes erday evening as an answer to a bye-election, whereby a member of the Council who had been suspended for alleged insulting conduct, and who had resigned without withdrawing the remarks objected to, was returned again.
