RETURNED SOLDIERS BALL.
The annual ball under the auspices of the Taihape and District Returned Soldiers’ Association will be hold in the Town Hall on Thursday, 23rd September. The committee has arranged for music by a special orchestra, and special attention is being devoted to the decorations and to the supper arrangements. In view of the work whk 1 ' has been done by the R.S.A in regard to the disabled men and to the dependents of deceased soldiers, any function which has for its object the provision of funds to carry on with such work is deserving of public support. Tickets are now on sale at the following prices:-—Double T/6, gent’s 5/-, ladies’ 3/6.
On account of the lecture at the King’s Theatre by a distinguished "Digger,’’ in the person of Sir Keith Smith, on the same evening, the ball will not start till 9.15 p.m. The picture of the flight and the accompanying lecture will commence at 7.30 sharp, and will be concluded in lime to permit of patrons attending the ball -after the lecture. Sir Keith Smith will also be present at the ball after he has delivered his lecture.
