IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.

LONDON, Sept. .14. The Australian and New Zealand Press Association learns authoritatively that the Imperial Conference will not be held in Canada in 1921. The Colonial Office is desirous of perpetuating the Premier’s Conference similar to the Imperial War Cabinet, comprising Premiers only, independently of the ordinary Imperial Conference. comprising other Ministers. The latter might meet in the Dominions successively, but the Premioifs Conference is only possible in London because the British Premier cannot absent himself from Europe. Sometime ago. it was proposed to hold a conference in Canada preliminary to the Premiers ’ Conference in London, but the idea was abadoned owing to lack of unanimity among the Dominions. | Doubts have now arisen whether any conference whatever will he hold in 1921. Some Dominions are of opinion

that constitutional regarding inter-imperial relations should be formulated by the Dominion Parliament and press before submission fb the Imperial Conference. It is understood that the Colonial Office prefers that the Dominions'shouKT formulate their own proposals. Meanwhile it is suggested tentatively that the Conference should meet in London in June.
