HOCKEY.
Saturday, as advertised, was a real hockey carnival, and all games were got off to time. Tire, first game Utiku v .School proved a good Wen game, the school team just manage* 1 to win by one nil. The T;uimarunui ladies’ v. Taihape ladies was also a hard even game, but neither team played up to expectation, the game ending in a draw. The Taumarunui men’s v. Taihape men’s was undoubtedly the best game from -a spectacular point of view and was fast and interesting, the Taihape men winning by 3 goals to 3. Messrs Dunbar ,'Wilson, and Reid were referees. TAIHAPE REPS. Y. WELLINGTON REPS. The following players have been selected to play against Wellington on September 20: Goal, Fleet; backs, Boyd, McLnre; halfs, Eaton.
