g T DANNEVIRKE. This day. The Annual District Convention of ed here yesterday, Mrs James Webby, district president, presiding. A resolution of appreciation is to be sent to the Minister of Education for including temperance instruction in the school syllabus. It was also decided to urge the Government to establish in all the chief centres clinics for treatment of venereal diseases, {where sufferers could attend day or night for free voluntary treatment; also that legislation be introduced placing upon the father of illegitimate children the responsibility of providing for their birth, and should his failure to do this result in the death of the child, either from neglect or foul play, he to be held equally responsible with the mother for such death, and placed beside her in the criminal dock. The Convention also passed a resolution protesting on moral grounds against employment of indentured labour in Samba,
