Yesterday, the fourth shoot for the Belk-Whittle Cup' was’held under the auspices of the -Awarua Gun Club,., under ideal conditions,•■and the shoot resulted as follows: A. Clinton (9 birds out of 10J .. 1 D. McLennan (9 birds out of 10) J The winners' divided the sweepstake and their score of 9 each is added to. their aggregate. In the Open Shoot for the gold bracelet presented by Mr W .J. Contra,. there was very keen competition, 4he • shoot resulting as follows;—J. Mortland, N. P. Spooner, C. Timbs,. 8.. Wheeler, and G. Belk each shot eight birds out of nine; and the shoot-off resolved itself into a contest between N. P. Spooner and B. Wheeler (Hawera) # The former shot 17 birds in,: succession, and the latter accounted for 16 birds. u v The leaders in the aggregate tor ■the Belk-Whittle Cup are:— N. P. Spooner 31 C. Timbs 29 G.
