j MONTHLY MEETING. At ihe monthly meeting of teh Taihape District High School Committee Hast evening, there were present: — Mr. A. James (chairman), Messrs. W. Ho wens, J. jMortland. E.- Loader, H. Dashwood, J. tie Luen, and Mrs. L. | B. H. de Lautour I The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed In connection with the School Library, the chairman explained that the necessary number of books had been purchased with the sum. donated by the Returned Soldiers’ Association. The full sum, with the subsidy thereon had been expended, and an e cellent library bad been provided. The subsidy would be lifted when the Inspector reported on the 1 expenditure. The report of the teacher at the Winiata Sc-hoa', was read and adopted. Mrs. Graft was appointed caretaker at the Winiata School. Referring (o the appeal for funds for improvements, the ‘chairman said that the appeal had so far met with a gratifying response. A general discussion ensued regarding the suggested improx-ennSrits. which fin eluded a Central Hall for the scdiool. Mv.-srs. Morfand and Dashwood were appointed M’s C. for the cbil-
idren’s ball on; 17th linst.y. and the whole committee agreed to supervisethe decorations, etc. It was also decided to suggest to the headmaster that some of the children could assist by bringing in some of the greenery for decorative purposes^ Messrs. Howens and Loader were appointed a visiting committee for the month.
