Cabinet has adopted the Chief Electoral Officer's xeport, stating that he is unable to conduct the by-election caused by Mr. Bee Dy's resignation, owing to the fact that no machinery was provided in the new Electoral Law for the holding of a by-election. The speakers writ is consequently useless. Speculation is .rife as to what the next step will be some quarters urging that the Government should immediately pass amending regulations
