SKATING.
A special session for learners only is being held every evening at 7 p.m. and free instruction will be given and those attending to learn this fascinating sport should start at once. Skating has a big hold ofl Taihape and last wdek was a record. The floor has improved and is now a delight to skate on. Tlie management has r opened a refreshment room, and it is proving a popular addition to th rink. The hoeKey match on Saturday proved a great success thei rovers winning afb'er an excising game.
