IMPERIAL PRESS CONFERENCE.

DELEGATES WELCOMED AT HALIFAX. HALIFAX (Novia Scotia) July 28. Mr McCailum Grant, Governor of Novia Scotia, welcomed the members of the Imperial Press Conference in the historic Legislative Chamber. Lord Burnham replied, saying that the delegates were not in Canada for propaganda, hut to see Canada for themselves. "We have come to recognises that not only is Canada thinking and speaking to-day ahead of Europe, but ahead of herself. It is because we believe the country wiTI continue to think and speak ahead of herself that we are so glad to be •here to-day." Mr Kirwan replied for the Dominions, saying that the object of the conference was the prosperity of the Empire. Mr W. S. Feildlng (the veteran Parliamentarian), Hon F. B. McCurdy, Federal Minister of Works. Hon. R. E. Finn, Provincial Minister (representing Premier Murray), each welcomed the delegates in three minutes' speeches.
