THE KING’S,
Mae Marsh appears in what is without question the best Goldwyn picture in which she has yet starred. It is
“Spotlight Sadie,” and presents the appealing star in precisely the sort of role she is best equipped to play. She is Sadie Sullivan, described as ‘a whimsical product or DU Grin.’ Thatched roofs, jaunting cars simple attire and all the fea.ures of life in Ireland are beauties fufly pictured early in the story. Later the peasant girl comes to Ne v York and i- time embarks on a theatrical career, becoming. by reason of her shyness art] aloofness, ‘the samd.v showgirl’ in a dashing musical corned r. Contrasting sharply with her innocence is the worldly wisdom of her assonates. This is cruelly bro ig.it to her alien-
iiou when she rails in love with a young man claimed us the especial property of the leading lady. Then Sadie learns that her nadir :l tastes have been to exploit „ho company, tluongti the press agents activities. A startling solution comes out of this tangle m which Sadie finally triumphs. •
