Our readers will have learned that owing to the recent enormous increase in the cost of producing newspapers the "Newspaper Proprietors' Association/" has increased the price of newspapers to twopence per copy to all Subscribers. It has now become urgently neces'sary that the "Taihape Dally Times" I should fall into line with all other j newspapers, but, subscriptions paid jin advance—in or before the first week of the quarter, or, in the case of monthly subscribers, ion or before the first day of the month —the old irate of 9/9 per quarter will be accepted; payments not so made must be at ! the rate of Twopence per copy. ; These term s will be strictly obj served, and they will come into' force I at the termination of the present rei gular quarter on the 31st of this j month. i All who wish to have the advantage of the advance rate should note the new conditions. No payments must be made to boys delivering the paper, such payments will not be Tecognlsed.

The rate for casual advertisements is therefore increased from four shillings per inch per insertion to five shillings per inch per insertion. Ordinary contract advertising will merely be hardened up to strictly Tariff Rates. These Increases will commence with the regular quarter, on Ist June, 1920
