Price of Newspapers NOTICE TO SUBSCRIBERS. Our readers will have learned that owing to the recent enormous increase in the cost 1 of producing newspapers the “Newspaper Proprietors’ Association,’' has increased the price of newspapers to twopence per copy to all Subscribers. It has now become urgently necessary that the “Taihape Daily Times” should fall into line with all other newspapers, but, subscriptions paid in advance —in or before the first week of the quarter, or, in the case of monthly subscribers, on or before the first day of the month—the old rate of 9/9 per quarter will be accepted: payments not so made must be at the rate of Twopence per copy. These terms will be strictly observed, and they will come into force at the termination *>f the present regular quarter on the 31st of this month. All who wish to have the advantage of the advance rate should note the now conditions. ' No payments must be made to boys delivering the paper, such payments will not be recognised.

The need for increasing ADVERTISING RATES i 3 no less urgent to enable the immensely increased cost of producing the newspaper being met. The rate for casual advertisements is therefore increased from four shillings per inch per insertion to five shillings per inch per insertion. Ordinary contract advertising will merely be hardened up to strictly Tariff Rates. These increases will commence with the regular quarter, on Ist June, 1920
