WELLINGTON, This Day. The Christchurch Press states dp good authority that Mr E. W. Holmes, Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, has resigned, and in consequence of his early retirement a complete re-organisation of the staff of the Department is in process of arrangement.
