ADVANCES TO DAIRY COMPANIES.
WELLINGTON, July 14.
Answering a question by Mr Powdiell (Patéa) the Minister of Agriculture replied: Information as to the reasons actuating the Associated Bank;s_gf;;,eq°clalug to largely curtail fu-tnre credit to dairy companies is necessary before the Government can undertake to consider giving financial assistance where banks will not do so; If the honourable member can furnish specific information on the matter it will be gone into. It should be noted that fresh legislation would have to be enacted befc-re the.Governmeut could advance money to dairy companies.
