The nonchalance of submarine crews is well illustrated by an anecdote recently told by Admiral S’r ffieubert King~Hall: A submarin.-» got mixed up’ in a. minefield in the Heligoland Bight. Suddenly the subn:aine collided with a mine, which failed to explode. Men on board were playing a game/of cards at the time, and one of the players exclaimed, “Thank God, another dud! I’ll go nap!”
