The Broken Hill Compulsory'Conference discussed the medical reports. A suggestion was made that 3. special committee be appointed with an independent cliairmaii, resulted in a deadlock over the latter. A further meeting will beheld on Wednesday. The Conferenee between the graziers and Australian Workers’ Union respecting the rates for shearers was adjourned without a decision. The unionsecretary said he was not hopeful of a settlement. The graziers meet again on Thursday. MELBOURNE, This day.

The gas workers have notified the Premier that they are willing to re~ sume on the basiis of the offer made, \\'ifll certain modifications. The situation is hopeful_
An injunciio'n to restrain Jerger from being deported has been refus» ed. An application will also be made for a Writ of habegs corpus-. The Judge made an order nisi to the MEcers in charge of Jerger to show cause why"ha.beas corpus should not be issued. K.

The Prince has amended the remainder of his Australian itinerary, deciding to travel through the back country instead of visiting Rabaul. He will witness shearing and other aspects of station life, and also participate in kangaroo -hunting. Speaking at a Government dinner the Prince said he should be sorry E 0 think this woufld be his only visit to Australia.
