The euc-hre party in connection with our social evenings on Friday night? spent a very" pleasant evening, and,_ although the night was threatening, over thirty playe'r’s turned out. Mrs! Ashton winning the ladies Dl‘iZ94 Miss Edlin the booby, ana Mr V. Egan won the gents and Mr A. Mar-3 lin the booby. ' 7 A few of our local sports ‘were in Taihape on Thursday last to try their luck with the gun, but with no great‘ success. Mr G. Belk won one sweep and third in another one. In a, shoofi. for a. £5 5/ trophy Mr G. and ‘H. Belk and A. Clinton tied for firse‘ place with two more shooters, but were _unsuccessful in the shoot offMr G. Beik was placed third, the’ other two failing to get a place.
