l “CROOK OF DREAMS.” A spirited melodrama, with a populnrstar in the lforeground, makes the new World Film production “Crook 0’ Dreams;” [an attractive programme featuring Louise Huff, in the role of Constance Waldron, gives a. realistic characterisation of :1 young girl, who, kidnapped ‘in her infancy, is brought up by a pair ;of crooks, and lives in daily associa{tion with son, Sam, a pick-pocket, The ‘girl’s mother advertises at frequent. intervals for news of her long-lost ;daughter, and one of these advertise‘ments, catching Sanl’s eye, fires him with an idea. Unaware of her real ‘identity, he persuades Constance. imuch against ner will, to i111}_)€l'.<,OI1.1!.'(0 ‘the daughter, so that he may get the ‘reward for finding her. The fl'aud _is“detected, but to save the mothe.r.'s imind, the girl is allowed to pass it off, iin the meantime. The young» lawyer ‘in charge of the case falls in love with the girl, and the truth emerges that Constance is the real daughter after all. The play has a pretty ‘climax, and the ollookers go off ‘home with }the sound of wedding bells ringing in *‘“r:_er?- . _ _
