The police arrived, and warned tlfe demonstrators of the consequences of any oVel't’act against the Hindus. but the crowd was determined not to allow them to remain. Finally the Hindus decided to leave the town. Escorted to the railway station. tfiéy boarded the train for Masterton. It is: reported they camped in the Masterton Park all night.
