TVVO OFFENDERS FINED.
DUNEDIN, July 7.
Albert 'Audreasena and James BurEorgl were charged at the Police Court this morning with disturbing an audience at the Princess TheJéltl'e. They pleaded guilty,
Senior-Sergeant Murray said that the defendants were seated in the gallery at the Princess Theatre last evening, when they-threw penqjes on to the stage. It might seem a trivial matter, but from the height of the gallery, even though the coins were not thrown‘ with much force, the result might ‘have had a serious effect. These proceeding were Ibrought with a view to putting a stop to the practice, which was very disconcerting to the pen-forrfiers. The throwing of pennies was ahrather common thing, and the management had for some time been trying to bring the offenders to justice.
Each defendant was fined 40/, with 9/ costs, in default seven days, imprisonment.
