TURANGAARERE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

V A dance, given by the spinsters of the settlement, was held in the Tumuigaarere Public Hall on Friday evenging, 2nd inst, and proved to be one of the best of the season. Much credit-_ is due to Miss Healey and the Misses Gai-dne’i- for the able manner in which they -carried the affair through. Miss Healey made a most efficient M.G., and saw that everyone had a good time. The music was supplied by Mr J. Sinclair, who was relieved zon _several occasions by Mr Hancox and Mrs A. Woods. Vocal selections rendered by Messrs A. Foster and R. Pulton‘ were much appreciated, as also was the cake walk given *by Mr Ran Tihima. The supper, provided and served by the spinsters was more elaborate than usual. Many visitors from Surrounding districts Were present, and dancing was continued till 2 am.
