CENSORSHIP OF PICTURE POSTERS.
AUCKLAND, June 30: The movement towards securing v stricter censorship of picture posters and programmes again came before the Board of Education to-day, the * reply from the Minister of Internal Affairs to the representaions made by •■' the Board being read to the meeting. * : The Minister stated that although he had been in office only a few weeks he regretted to say that several complaints on the subject had reached him. and from samples of handbills and advertisements forwarded to im •it was evident that some action would require to be taken to effect an improvement, particularly in the interests of the younger members of the community. He was at present making inquiries to see whether there was power under the existing law to censor handbills, posters, etc. If not, then he purposed bringing the matter under the notice of the Cabinet with a view of having legislation introduced during the cgrning session:"; •
