The document assesses the total payable by Germany to France as "228 million gold marks, less 215 million for German construction of public improvements. The memorandum reckons the amount payable apart from the war zone as fifty millions, also damages to churches, cathedrals, and public buildings at seventy-five millions. PERSIAN AFFAIRS. PRIME MINISTER RESIGNS. j Received 5.50. DELHI. Juno 2G.' A message from Teheran reports that the Persian Prime Minister resigned office in view of the present crisis. ' An important deputation, comprising all classes of Persians, asked the Shah not to accept the resignation on account of the popularity of flic Premier and the lack of a successor. The resignation of the Premier, who was the chief Persian author of the Anglo-Persian agreement, following the departure of Mr Cox, would render the situation extremely critical. The Shah accepted the resignation. Kutchik Khan's revolutionary forces have reached Mazandaran. He is credited with the intention of attempting to advance on Teheran from Mazandaran. avoiding the British troops at Tazvin.
