Since the first distl'ibutioll of prefits from the estate of the late 'l‘. G. McCarthy in 1913, roughly half of which goes to "benefit, clmritalale. and educational institutions «in the Wellington district, the impressive sum of £4-].,‘222 has been distributed zLc~ cording to terms of the trust. The amount available in the manner I'o- - to for distfibutziou as result: of the opertzaions of 1919 is £6465 or £1353 more than the preceeding year.
At the am_lual meeting of the Board of Trust yesterday seventy applications for grants ‘were received from charitable and education institutions’. and of that number sixtythree were considmod fuvom-ably.
