place to-day.
One of the matters to be considered will be the death sentence or the murderer, Dennis Gunn. A. petition has been presenied for a_ reprieve of Gunn.
Nothing has yet, been dohe by tiltePrime Minister aboufi the appointment of another Minister. In the course of a few days Sir William Fraser will be retiring from the Ministry_, and this will leave his‘ portfolio to be‘allocat.eei.
No satisfactoly placing of the Defence ‘portfolio has yet been fixed, for although Mr Coates is acting, he‘ Eat‘ it be known that he does not coxlsidex: he can do justice to the big portfolio of Public Works and Defence as well. The appointment of the new Minister may not He made at once, but it is generally understood it Willhave to be made before the session is far advanced.

The Prime Minister may possibly be concerned with proposals already nounced for the reconstruction of ‘clxe. Boa_rd, but 5116. will no longer be its President. v .-
The coming session is generally expecfed to last. from five fto six months. Nearly every Department. is in need of an amencling Bill.‘ There is Time-licall-5' certain ‘to be -an Educatioen Bill, which is always a cliflicult 11ie:1.~ sure to pilot through in reasonable time. The Railways Amendment‘ Bill is also expecled. There-will be an important land Bill td",set.tle many matters which have created clifiicultios in zlclministl'ation.
