Halley and under the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act. between the executive of the New Zealand Jockeys’ Association (represented by Messrs Sheath, Davies, and Rae) and the raceho-rse owners of New- Zealand. I'opl'esmltoml by Sir G. Clifford and Messrs J. S. McLeod and R. Hannan. No ngreinent. was arrived at, the racehorse owners claiming that the Asso—ciation did not represent 1-. ho jockeys of New Zeaiand, and that. even if tbv-gr did so it would be impossible, in 1oh<:interests of the owners, trainers. jocl<eys and the public, to submit. to 132:dictation of any one ‘section of"racing interests, especially when organised by outsiders. The owners, however. oxpressed their willingness to receive suggestions fioni individutil jockeys or others connected with the sport, stating that this course had already been taken in respect to the ‘proposed legislation by the forthcoming rneeting of the N.Z_ Racing’ Conference
