ERECTION OF WORKERS’ DWELLINGS.
LACK OF MATERIALS CAUSES DELAY. WELLINGTON, This Day. * From a statement by Hon. VV. H. Herries, Minister for Lanbour, it appears nine dwellings were completed and 197 in course of erection. Tenders have been received for 127, and 609 more are in contemplation. So far the chief ldifficulty has not been labour, but material. With regard to present contracts the builders are being assisted with materials, but in future the works contractors, it is hoped, will find the timber. etc.
