SENSATIONAL MOTOR ACCIDENT.
Mr W. Tennant, of Wanganni, had a sensational experience and a marvellous escape from death on Tuesday while motoring along the banks p-f the Wanganni Eiver about the staffing point of the rowing championship course. Mr Tennant had just dropped .some passengers, and, on turning round, the wheels of the car became locked. The | engine began to race, and the car leapI ed and turning completely over drop- : ped 150 feet, depositing Mr T-nnant on a two-feet ledge. The car then made two more leaps before it finally dropped into the bed of the fiver, where it still remains. The total drop from the road v, the river is estimated to be*3oo font. . ,Jfr Mr Tennant esejapetd with la few ' bruises. The extent of the damage tt the motor ear is nor- known, as it ; s at present submerged in the water.
