Hubbard =‘('lj:z-um) moved the following motion, V,2‘)f-fiwlyvlzich he had previously given notice: “That in connection ‘with the .forr.hc.mn'ulg National Dairy Show the._l\'la_llE_l_\Y.‘fl_j:u“ sub-provincial executive arrange ‘£h'r"'n mess meeting of farmers from ' all parts to be held on a. date to be arranged, the business being to ("On‘side.ithe question of furthering the’ i'2ilei“-l_ ests of the Farmers’ Uhion; and that" suggestions be invited as to the best means of thoroughly organising: Hie whole of the farmers in the ,I‘!on'.inion.” .

Mr Hubbard said that if the.‘ 11313 the meeting as he suggestei thrlv could obtain the opinions of farmers from all over the North Island, ‘and probably from the South Island_ if the Farmers’ Union wanted to piogress more their organisation must be made universal; the trades and labour unions were organised, but vet present the Farmers’ Union was not’ so well organised. He thought that‘ by holding the meeting they W-"‘-illd. learn something and flll't.hel' their 01'ganisation, and at the same time save expense. Men from other pans of New Zealand would be able to give an }‘i_de:i of ivhat was being done in their ‘districts. He hoped that the farmers would be made the power in the country that they were striving to be, and he would like to see sub~ provincial unions all over New Zealand with pl‘OV‘illCial organisers, and with an organiser for the ivhoie of the Dominion. He suggested that. a committee the formed to further his proposal, and said that the meeting might be a purely business one, or they could hold a social gathering. They wanted the farmers from their own district and also from the whole of New Zealand to give their opinions.

After discussion the motion wascarried and a committee was appointed to make the necessary :11'mngements.
