V In the House of Commons Mr Bonar Law stated in October, 1919, when it was feared the Rilssian Soviet Government would attack the Ru?<.<inn border States, Poland -asked for Briri.~:h. assistance in military equipment. Owing to our commitments elsewhere the Government wes unable to give financial assistance, ‘but offezred «to supply ta quantity of surplus sto'r'€’§"if Poland undertook to hear the cost of moving, and all ‘transport arrangements. The offer was accepted, and the Polish Government was now shipping a part of the stores. “Otherwise no assistance had been given to Poland.
