(From Our Own Correspondent.)
One of the largest and most enthuisatic meetings that has been held in Utiku for many a long day toolf place on Wednesday night last in the Town Hall. Mr T. A_ Randolph presided and said that the object of the meeting was to arrange for some form of entertainment during the winter months. After discussion it was de cided to form a Sports and Pastimes ‘Club, such club to arrange suitable social gatherings. ‘A ‘strong committee Was formed with Mr T. A. Randolph as hon. secretary and treasurer. The social life of our town ought to be particularly gay this winter, for "apart from Whatever evenings the newly formed club may arrange, there is talk of several big dances that promise to eventuate in the near future. The many friends of Mr P, G. Lewis one time head teacher at our school will congratulate him upon his securing his M.A. degree. » ' The friends and supporters of the Utiku Football Club were pleased at the sluowing made by the local boys last Saturday,- though the absence of goal posts made the game exceeding—: ly hard to follow. A ;
